Xionggu MD-1100CC/CV and MD-350CC/CV diesel engine driven welding machine are developed to provide quick response welding equipment for branch pipeline projects in remote area and tie-in welding of pipeline. Cummins engine is installed inside MD-1100CC/CV, and Kohler diesel engine is installed in MD-350CC/CV. They are multiple function welding machines with self-shielded flux cored welding, SMAW (low hydrogen stick), SMAW (cellulose stick), TIG, which are design to do from root pass welding to fill & cap welding of pipe joints. Cummins diesel engine for MD-1100CC/CV and Kohler diesel engine for MD-350CC/CV are selected to ensure high performance and reliability of welding machines. 

Upon request from client that tie-in welding should be done by automatic welding, Xionggu diesel engine driven welding machine MD-1100CC/CV is used by EPC contractors in connection with Xionggu A-300 series automatic pipeline welding machine. It is a good solution to pipeline tie-in welding to rural area without power grid. Small in volume, light in weight, MD-350CC/CV diesel engine driven welding machine can also work with automatic welding machine with high flexibility, which is very suitable for pipeline repair welding. Both combination of welding machines are engineered by Xionggu engineers with available welding machines in short period of time.

The combinations of Xionggu diesel engine driven welding machines with A-300 series automatic pipeline welding machines have been in service in branch pipeline project northwest of China, where many regions haven’t been covered by power grid. EPC contractors are impressed by performance of this combination, they think it provide the best solution to branch pipeline construction in rural area, tie-in construction and repair welding.

In the future, all Xionggu welding machines will be installed with remote data transmission module which is based on WiFi and mobile internet. With this function, customers are able monitor status and operation of Xionggu welding machines in office where internet is available. Welding parameters can be recorded and transmitted for after work analysis. New technology facilitate safe operation of welding machines and consistent high weld quality.
