On September 23, 2021, with the commencement of the construction of the 2ndZhongwei station of the middle section (Zhongwei-Ji'an) of the 3rdwest east gas transmission pipeline project was started. The 2ndZhongwei station, as the standby station of Zhongwei hub station of the 1stand 2ndwest east gas transmission pipeline, is the smart hub station of the 3rdwest east gas transmission pipeline. After completion, it can be interconnected with multiple natural gas pipelines such as the 1stand 2ndwest east gas transmission pipeline, Zhongjing connecting pipeline and Zhonggui pipeline. It can greatly improve the operation reliability of the west to east gas transmission pipeline system.

The middle section of the 3rdwest east gas transmission pipeline (Zhongwei Ji'an) natural gas pipeline has a total length of 2090 km. It starts from Zhongwei, Ningxia, passes through 7 provinces (autonomous regions) of Ningxia, Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi, and ends at Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province. The design pressure of the pipeline is 10 MPa, the design annual gas transmission capacity is 25 billion m3, and the pipe diameter is 1219 mm. A total of 10 compressor stations and 2 branch lines are set along the whole line. Xionggu pipeline automatic welding machines participated in the construction of the project. They are A-800 series internal welding machine and A-610 dual torch external welding machine.

After the completion of the middle section project of the 3rdwest to east gas transmission pipeline, the annual gas transmission capacity of the west to east gas transmission pipeline system can be increased by about 25 billion cubic meters. Compared with coal consumption, the annual carbon dioxide emission can be reduced by 70.89 million tons. It is important to promote the adjustment of energy structure and the transformation of development mode, ensure the supply of clean energy along the line, promote energy conservation and emission reduction along the line, and achieve carbon peak The goal of carbon neutralization is of great significance.
